Our office is located at 922 Broad Street, Suite D, Durham NC, on the corner of Broad Street and West Knox Street. We are located on the lower level in the rear of the building. To access our parking lot turn onto West Knox and take the first driveway to the parking lot in the rear of the building. We are located three blocks north on Broad Street from Duke East Campus and Whole Foods Market.

At Broad Street Chiropractic we treat many neuromusculoskeletal conditions including acute and chronic pain, athletic injuries, extremity pain, headaches, TMJ pain and arthritis as well as treatment and rehabilitation following an accident or injury. A large part of our practice involves working with patients having chronic pain. When treating chronic pain, it is important to look at the total person, not just a specific symptom. Chronic pain can be caused by bad posture or breathing habits, faulty nutritional balances or assimilation, mental stress, poor body mechanics, weak muscles, tight muscles,etc. Dr. Washington finds that working in all these areas allows for the best results. An initial visit to Broad Street Chiropractic consists of a consultation about your chief complaint(s) and a functional assessment using standard medical diagnostic tests and chiropractic evaluation. Once Dr. Washington determines your condition will likely respond favorably to chiropractic he will explain his findings and give his recommendations for care. In most cases Dr. Washington will begin chiropractic adjustments or re-alignments on your first visit.

In addition to chiropractic services we provide:
·Physical modalities, such as ultrasound to increase circulation and reduce inflammation of muscles and joints. This is excellent for shoulder tendonitis or injured, painful muscles.
·Electrical muscle stimulation is available to increase circulation, tonify weak muscles or relax tight muscles.
·Massage techniques are used to balance muscles and reduce pain.
·Rehabilitation, such as personalized neck, back, and extremity exercises, weights and resistive exercises are given when necessary to stabilize and speed your recovery.

Dr. Washington has been providing chiropractic care in Durham for 27 years. He graduated from Life College of Chiropractic, Marietta, Georgia in 1982. Dr. Washington takes a holistic approach using a combination of chiropractic, applied kinesiology (AK), nutritional counseling, lower back traction/decompression for sciatic pain or arthritis and soft tissue massage to help toward a fast and effective recovery. Dr. Washington has many years of experience treating all types of neuromusculoskeletal conditions including headaches,neck and back pain,radicular pain such as sciatica or cervical radiculitis, and extremity problems.
